Seems that I had managed set up this blog to only allow comments from registered users of one kind or another.
Thanks to, "Esmerelda of Oz", for pointing that out to me! So I have tweaked the relevant little bit of configuration which now means that anyone can now comment, however there is a side effect, in that I now have to vet each comment before allowing it onto the blog.
